Likewise CTO: Unleash and Secure Unstructured Data
Faster, easier, consistent security makes data more secure and accessible |
SANTA CLARA, Calif., STORAGE DEVELOPER CONFERENCE, Sept. 20, 2011 – Likewise chief technology officer (CTO), Gerald Carter, along with Likewise engineers Wei Fu and Evgeny Popovich, will be speaking here in several sessions providing conference attendees with information on how to better control unstructured data using Likewise software.
The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) Storage Developers Conference (SDC) 2011, now in its eighth year, is expected to attract a few hundred storage and cloud developers who will share best practices and learn about leading storage development topics. The conference is scheduled for September 19-22.
“Network administrators, end users and software developers have long considered security to be inversely proportional to convenience,” said Carter. “The ongoing challenge is that users champion the side of convenience and flexibility while administrators must solve problems such as chain of custody and data lifecycle management. We believe that a system does not have to be intrusive to the end-user experience in order to be secure.”
Likewise Storage Services offers a consistent security model for file-based access and cross-platform, integrated storage across physical, virtual and cloud environments. The software provides both access to and control of a company’s intellectual assets, from Windows, Unix and Linux systems, with integrated identity and access management.
In addition to the three sessions, a Silver sponsorship and booth at the conference, Likewise will also be hosting a happy hour with free drinks, appetizers and giveaways at the Hotel Valencia on Tuesday, September 20 at 8 pm.
